Equine Therapy with Reno Rescue

This summer, the High Fives Foundation teamed up with Reno Rescue to host a series of Equine Therapy sessions designed to help athletes build confidence, balance, and connection through the power of horses.

Reno Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating horses, offering inclusive riding lessons for individuals of all physical abilities, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for both horses and humans.

From June through September, five sessions welcomed more than 25 High Fives Athletes. Each session offered hands-on experience with grooming, leading, and riding, encouraging athletes to tune into the quiet rhythm of communication between horse and rider.

The partnership with Reno Rescue continues to expand what’s possible in adaptive recreation, proving that healing doesn’t always happen in a gym or on a trail, but sometimes in the soft breath of a horse and the strength it helps uncover.

Thank you to Reno Rescue for their incredible hospitality, dedication, and belief that every person and every horse deserves a chance to thrive.
