Glide Away at Disabled Sports USA – Far West

The High Fives Foundation has teamed up with non-profit Disabled Sports USA Far West based out of Alpine Meadows to help get people who have sustained a life altering injury back out on the slopes. On June 27, the High Fives Foundation donated a brand new HOC Glide bi-ski. The Glide is a state of the art adaptive sit ski made by Hands on Concepts in southern California. The ski is designed for people with spinal cord injuries or other mobility impairments. The ski will be used by Disabled Sports USA Far West to provide ski lessons for High Fives athletes as well as anyone who will benefit from the ski. The two non-profit organizations have been working together since 2010 to help athletes return to the sport that they love. The collaboration comes full circle as the High Fives Foundation recruits athletes and raises funds to assist Disabled Sports in providing instruction that offers athletes limitless potential to regain the ability to excel in the sports that they are passionate about.
