August 1st is recognized as Adaptive Activity Day, also known as #HaveADay! This special day, celebrated in collaboration with Kelly Brush Foundation, Victoria’s Victory Foundation, Vermont Adaptive and Killington Resort encourages Adaptive Athletes to get outside and engage in activities they love. The hashtag #HaveADay was used to promote activity and inclusion, showcasing the diverse ways athletes participate in adaptive sports.
At the High Fives Foundation, we often refer to our community as an Ohana—a family. We understand that overcoming life-changing injuries takes a village, and we are grateful for the many organizations working alongside us to support communities like ours.
On this year’s Adaptive Activity Day, our community got out, got active, and showcased their incredible abilities! From mountain biking and skydiving to kayaking and martial arts, athletes displayed their passion and perseverance. The range of activities, including road biking, golfing, hiking, dog walking, wake surfing, paddle boarding, paragliding, and more, highlighted the endless possibilities for adaptive athletes.
