High Fives Athlete Atli Bokstrom Achieves Arcade Belt Goal in the Backcountry

High Fives athlete Atli Bokstrom (#946) recently reached an incredible milestone in his recovery journey, successfully completing his Arcade Belt Goal of snowboarding in the backcountry for a full day. For Atli, the achievement wasn’t just about riding a snowboard again. It was about reconnecting with the mountains and experiencing the feeling that first inspired his love for snowboarding.

Heading into the backcountry of British Columbia, Atli took time to assess the conditions before dropping in. While the region hadn’t seen significant snowfall for about a month and a half, the mountains were still holding an impressive amount of snow, nearly three meters deep in places. After digging a quick pit and evaluating the terrain, he found what every rider hopes for: soft, supportive snow and a clean line disappearing into the fog below.

As the clouds rolled in and visibility shifted, Atli stood at the top of a gentle pitch, ready to drop. The moment captured the spirit of the Arcade Belt Goal Program, where athletes set personal milestones that represent meaningful steps forward in their recovery and return to the sports they love.

For Atli, the highlight wasn’t the conditions, the line, or the scenery, it was the feeling.

“I just wanted to share how amazing it feels to be snowboarding again,” Atli said. “I’ve been waiting a long time to get back to this. That effortless feeling of just floating down a mountainside on a snowboard is the highlight of the day.”

Moments like this are what the Arcade Belt Goal Program is all about. Each goal represents progress, determination, and the unwavering spirit of athletes working their way back to the activities that bring them joy.

Congratulations to Atli Bokstrom on achieving this incredible milestone and continuing to push forward on the path of recovery.

High Five, Atli. 🖐️
