August 12, 2026 | Lake Tahoe
Another beautiful summer day on Lake Tahoe brought the High Fives community together for a day of paddling, connection, and time on the water.

On August 12, five High Fives Athletes joined Tahoe Waterman for a Waterman Day, getting out on the lake aboard an adaptive outrigger canoe. With support from the crew, athletes were able to paddle together and experience Lake Tahoe from a completely different perspective.
Waterman Days are all about creating accessible opportunities to get outside, try something new, and enjoy the power of being on the water.
The adaptive outrigger setup allowed the group to paddle as one team, combining communication, teamwork, and plenty of High Fives along the way. From launching off the beach to cruising across the clear Tahoe water, it was a day built around making outdoor recreation accessible and fun.
For High Fives Athletes, experiences like these go beyond simply getting on the water. They create opportunities to build confidence, connect with other athletes, and continue exploring what is possible after a life-changing injury.
A huge thank you to Tahoe Waterman, the volunteers, athletes, and everyone who helped make the August 12 Waterman Day possible.
Five athletes. One canoe. One incredible day on Lake Tahoe.
High Five!
