Founded in Montana by Jesse Alberi, Access Unlimited has spent nearly a decade creating transformational adaptive fishing experiences that reconnect participants with nature, community, and themselves. Now, as part of High Fives Foundation, Access Unlimited will lead and grow the organization’s FISH Pillar, expanding opportunities for athletes and participants across the United States.

“Access Unlimited represents everything High Fives Foundation believes in,” said Roy Tuscany, Founder and CEO of High Fives Foundation. “Adventure is a powerful catalyst for healing, and fishing provides a unique environment where individuals can reconnect with freedom, confidence, and possibility. Welcoming Access Unlimited strengthens our ability to serve more people, in more places, and continue proving that life after injury can be full of purpose and adventure.”

High Fives Foundation was founded in 2009 by Roy Tuscany following his own life-changing spinal cord injury. Since then, the nonprofit has supported more than 1,000 athletes and individuals through Empowerment Grants, adaptive camps, and wellness services across its Five Pillars of Sport: Snow, Surf, Bike, Dirt, and Fish. The addition of Access Unlimited reinforces the Foundation’s mission to prevent life-changing injuries and provide resources and hope if they happen.

Access Unlimited has already made a measurable impact through its adaptive fishing programs, delivering:

  • 95 first-time athlete fishing experiences
  • 165 adaptive boat days on the water
  • 825 fish caught by participants

But the impact extends far beyond the numbers. Each experience helps participants rediscover independence, dignity, and the healing power of nature.

“After nine years of building Access Unlimited from the ground up, joining High Fives Foundation is a natural evolution,” said Jesse Alberi, Founder of Access Unlimited and Fish Pillar lead at High Fives Foundation. “We’re still rooted in the same values of compassion, community, and adventure but now, with the support and infrastructure of High Fives, we can expand faster, reach more people, and create even more life-changing experiences.”

Beginning in its first year under High Fives Foundation, Access Unlimited will expand from a single annual fishing camp to multiple full-scale adaptive fishing experiences across Nevada, Colorado, Rhode Island, and Montana, along with new day-trip programs designed to increase local access and participation.

Importantly, Access Unlimited will remain open to anyone affected by a traumatic or life-altering event, regardless of whether they are a current High Fives athlete. Donations made to support Access Unlimited will now be processed through High Fives Foundation and remain fully tax-deductible, with funds restricted specifically to support adaptive fishing programs.

This integration also unlocks new partnerships and resources through High Fives Foundation’s national network of partners, helping scale the reach and impact of adaptive fishing opportunities for years to come.

“Where disability meets determination, adventure becomes the path to healing and hope,” added Alberi. “Together with High Fives, we’re creating more opportunities for people to rediscover what’s possible.”

Through the FISH Pillar and Access Unlimited, High Fives Foundation continues to open doors to rivers, lakes, and wild places—proving that adventure has no limits, and neither should recovery. Donate HERE. Apply HERE.
