In September 2018, the High Fives Foundation took athletes with life-altering injuries to Santa Cruz for an adaptive surf trip. We started to venture into the world of adaptive surf because of the freedom that exists in the ocean and no barrier to entry through the joy of getting into the water. We have watched individuals gain a new perspective of freedom from being in the water to catch waves independently and in a safe manner with our dedicated watermen.
