Life is a journey to be experienced!

7 years ago today the High Fives Foundation funded its first athlete. In 2008, the High Fives first athlete, Steve Wallace, suffered a spinal cord injury burst fracture of his T9 vertebrae, while skiing in the Granite Chief area at Squaw Valley. In an endless pursuit to return to skiing, involving a year in different hospitals around the country, Steve returned to Northern California where he was introduced to High Fives Founder, Roy Tuscany.

The High Fives Winter Empowerment Fund provided Steve with the financial means to make his skiing dream a reality. Today Steve is not only continuing to get ski days in but is still a major part of the High Fives Foundation as the Athlete & CR Johnson Healing Center Coordinator.

From day to day Steve sees the light in every individual he comes in contact with and brings a smile to their faces. Steve is known for his plethora of information regarding spinal cord injuries and advice on where and what the ‘next move’ will be.

High Five & Thank You Steve for being YOU!
