While snowboarding in Japan’s backcountry, Seth was caught in an avalanche that sent him for a violent ride. The resulting crash dislocated his shoulder, broke his pelvis in two places, tore the meniscus in his left knee, and ruptured an internal artery. After an initial surgery in Japan and then a flight back to Tahoe, it was later found that the internal pelvic fixation hardware was broken. Seth has had three major surgeries and is now on the road to recovery.
