Meet Winter Empowerment Athlete – Timothy Brown of Manchester, MA…

A ski patroller at Aspen Snowmass (CO), Tim suffered a fractured C4/C5 vertebra coupled with a contusion of the same area. After finding out about High Fives Foundation from Powder Magazine, Tim got in touch with the Foundation about returning to skiing on the East Coast. With his SCI (spinal cord injury) happening in the winter sports and his desire to make it back to the hill, Tims goal of returning to the mountains with his friends and family fits the mission of the Winter Empowerment Fund.

The Winter Empowerment Fund has provided Timothy with Vermont Adaptive Lessons,Winter Equipment (Sorel Boots, Smith Optics Helmet and goggles, jacket, pants, gloves; Travel Funding)

After his trip to Vermont, Timothy wrote to Roy Tuscany:

Hey Roy,

Hope you had a great weekend out in Tahoe. I just want to write and thank you so much for setting me up at Sugarbush.
It was awesome to meet Jess and Wes and the crew at Vermont North on Friday. They were all incredibly friendly, cool, and generous. They also speak very highly of you and are super stoked on High Fives they were all wearing their High fives trucker hats.
A few of my buddies were able to make it to Mount Ellen on Saturday and we all had a blast getting back on the hill together. We resorted right back to the same taunts and laughs and had a great time. I’m also heading out to Snowmass this week will be getting on the hill there, so Saturday was a perfect time to get some of the rust off.
Again, thank you so much Roy. Please let me know if there’s any way I can help you guys out.
