The following Winter Empowerment Athletes having been making great progress in their dreams in the winter action sports community.
On February 26, 2012 Randy was involved in a snowmobiling accident in Pinedale, WY, while filming for the Alpine Assassins 2012 film. He has been making a great recovery and has returned to snowmobiling with the his friends and the Alpine Assassins. He recently decked out his sled with support for the High Fives Foundation.
Jasmin was paralyzed in a car accident in 2000 and has been pursuing a dream in adaptive ski racing since his recovery.Family comes first for Jasmin. Once a competitor for Serbia, the U.S. hopeful for the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games is sitting out the International Paralympic Committee Alpine Skiing World Championships next week in La Molina, Spain, as he awaits the birth of his second daughter in Colorado. Phil suffered a burst fracture of his C-5 vertebrae on January 1, 2011 while skiing at Squaw Valley. Since his injury he has worked tremendously hard to return to work and to the sport of skiing. This month, Phil had the good fortune to take his recovery process to Japan and get some powder skiing in!
Landon broke his back July of 2010 while competing on his mountain bike. Since his recovery, Landon has been pursuing a dream of making the Canadian Paralympic Ski Team. He has made the Provincial Team and this season he has already skied over 50 days. Additionally, this young gun has also been getting some big air…
The reigning J2 National Champion, Jake was injured on December 22, 2010 at Steamboat Springs, CO at the US National Team Selections, when he caught an edge before one of the jumps. Jake has been back on the competition this circuit this season and has been crushing it. Look for Jake in the air or at the DJ booth at this Saturday’s Squaw Valley Prom!
