In November 2010 Matt Masson had an accident on a night out in London, he fell 26 feet through a corrugated plastic roof onto his head, he was in a coma for 6 weeks and when he woke up he couldn’t do anything, walk, talk, not at all! On Oct 19th, 2014 he completed the Amsterdam Marathon for the High Fives Foundation and raised $12,235!

Matt walked 27 miles in the end and it took him 9hr 37mins. The marathon ended in the Olympic Stadium, which was shut by the time Matt got there, but they opened it up for him and gave him a special medal ceremony!

Matt expressed to the High Fives Team how he the event went, “It was incredible! After 6 hours they closed the course and we had to follow the route from maps and phones! We even overshot a bit and ended up doing 27 miles by the end!! The highlight was definitely a lot of my mates and brother all joined in on the last few miles! By then my balance had gone so they took it in turns to let me lean on them!!”

High Five Matt for your ongoing support!
