Meet Courtney – Our New Account Coordinator

Courtney is all about the outdoors and the thrill of pushing her limits! Proud of her paddle boarding achievements, she’s paddled from Kiva Beach to Emerald Bay and back, and even surfed with her dog on an inflatable paddle board. Whether she’s biking, snowboarding, or paddle boarding with friends, she’s always chasing that next adventure.

“I love progressing on my mountain bike, I feel like every time I ride I get a little better, a little more confident, and it makes me feel like I’m good at something.”

But it’s not just her love for outdoor sports that brought her to High Fives. Courtney’s passion for helping others is what truly drives her. In her previous work, she became an advocate for individuals with disabilities, striving to make workplaces more inclusive.

“It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do—help people. After some divine redirection, I found High Fives. Now, I’m helping our grantees get out there to participate in new adventures, and the work is so fulfilling!”

Meet Amanda – Our New Finance & HR Manager

Amanda’s journey to High Fives has been a long time in the making. Her love for snowboarding, hiking, cycling, and paddle boarding pairs perfectly with her commitment to helping underrepresented communities access the joys of the outdoors. She’s also an adventurer at heart, with a passion for exploring hot springs, summiting mountain peaks, and fishing—especially when she gets to share these experiences with her daughters.

“I love introducing my daughters to these amazing outdoor adventures. They are my favorite people, and spending time with them in nature is a big part of who I am.”

Amanda shares

Amanda’s background in nonprofit work and special education has always centered on supporting people with physical and developmental challenges. After working with Sierra Nevada Journeys and Urban Roots Garden Classrooms, her path eventually led her to High Fives. A pivotal moment occurred at a High Fives event back in 2011 at Sugarbowl, where Amanda first connected with our team.

“I was so inspired by the mission. I knew I wanted to work with High Fives someday.”
