2025 Motodemption | Adaptive Moto Comes Full Throttle in Leadville

From July 8–11, 2025, twelve adaptive athletes gathered in Leadville, Colorado, for an unforgettable ride. Hosted at the Leadville Motocross Park, Motodemption—a nonprofit in partnership with the High Fives Foundation—pushed limits, rewrote narratives, and revved engines with purpose.

Motodemption is more than a motocross camp. It’s a movement built around redemption through motion—welcoming riders who have experienced life-changing spinal cord injuries, many of them from moto accidents themselves. With fully modified adaptive dirt bikes and expert coaching, athletes experience not only the thrill of riding again but the deep personal triumph of proving what’s possible.

“We’re so grateful to have had two fully private days at the Leadville MX track for 2025 Motodemption,” said Matt Herrera, Empowerment Program Coordinator at High Fives. “On day one, we covered safety, expectations, and goals. Then it was ride, ride, ride! Day two, athletes took on adaptive dirt bikes and got behind the wheel of the new Swift Polaris RZR with Return to Dirt.”

Each bike was custom-built to match its rider—featuring innovative hand controls, recluse auto clutches, safety harnesses, and foot cages. Every turn of the throttle was a victory.

From cornering to catching air, participants described the experience as natural, freeing, and emotional. For some, it was their first time back on a bike since injury. For others, it was their first time ever.

This camp wasn’t just about motocross. It was about access, growth, community, and redefining identity. It was about reclaiming joy, confidence, and independence.
