My great grandmother died about 6 years ago and she left behind a lot of art supplies from her painting days and I got some of them refurbished and was able to use them to create this piece. So I would like to dedicate it to her and her legacy.

I like to use a combination of media to create 3 dimensional works of collage and assemblage styles with a sense of place and whimsy. Using both natural and human created found objects, my photographs, paint, pencil, encaustic wax, and embossing powders.

``Scot Schmidt's Groove`` is a painting from the legendary image of Scot Schmidt shredding powder in Alaska in the classic ski movie ````Groove Requiem.... The Key of Ski````. This piece of art was painted by a ski coach of 20 years whose life is spent either on skis, dreaming of skiing, or painting skiing.

Wall Art is inspired by the local waterscapes in the Truckee / Tahoe area. The colorful layers of fabric are all 100% reclaimed either post-consumer or post-manufacturing. These water friendly reclaimed sails + marine fabrics are combined with uv-resistant india ink and industrial sewing techniques.

Luca Stevens @mountainwatercanvas

This playful 2-piece painting comes together to represent my love of hiking in the Sierras and longing for Summer adventures.

At Meridian Press, up the big hill from the Truckee River and in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Katherine Case carves linoleum blocks, hand-sets metal type and prints on an antique SP-15 Vandercook proof press. She calls up inspiration from the traditional textile patterns of Africa, Asia and the Pacific and from the diverse and abundant landscapes of the Reno-Tahoe area.

In the 20+ years that I have lived in Truckee, I have spent countless hours wandering in the forests, walking the dogs, talking with friends, and occasionally spotting a face in the bark of a tree. This piece, Resonance, was inspired by the power of stillness, like a tree in winter, like a lion before it springs into action.

Sarah Poynter @sarahpoynterartist

I am a mixed media artist and love working with vibrant colors. I recently started exploring collage techniques more. I've lived in Reno 22+ years, originally from Hawaii. I teach art classes locally.

Item #1 - Tahoe Sunrise- My work begins with a free-form approach that provides a sense of balance in my life. Organic materials such as slate and granite offer a direct connection to the source of my inspirations for creating mosaics art. Item #2 - Through nature- inspired mosaics I express my love of nature's forms.

Laura Holl @lgholl

My name is Kendel and I'm a mixed media artist living in Reno, Nevada. I create artwork inspired by things I find beautiful and interesting in nature. I am passionate about shining light on creatures that are misunderstood like rats, mice, snakes, ravens, crows, pigeons, etc. My favorite mediums to work with are watercolor, ink, acrylic and digital. In my free time you'll find me gardening, traveling, playing video games, and exploring the Reno/Tahoe area with my partner and our dog, Kai.

When the brown bears come out of hibernation in the spring, they eat sedge grass where I spend my summers in a remote spot in Southeast Alaska outside of Juneau. I gathered their droppings and made paper. I then printed images on them with ink.

When I set out to create my first oil piece, I cast my expectations aside and let the colors speak to me. I had a really fun time making a mess and working solely with my hands. The colors that came to life are a reflection of abundance, life, and maybe some wine... 😉
