My great grandmother died about 6 years ago and she left behind a lot of art supplies from her painting days and I got some of them refurbished and was able to use them to create this piece. So I would like to dedicate it to her and her legacy.

When the brown bears come out of hibernation in the spring, they eat sedge grass where I spend my summers in a remote spot in Southeast Alaska outside of Juneau. I gathered their droppings and made paper. I then printed images on them with ink.

Romi moved to America as an adult and has been living in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area for over 20 years. She loves animals and likes to bring them to life through her paintings. Romi has a lively personality and likes to make people happy, spreading joy with her colorful paintings. Outside of the art world, Romi is very involved with the community, working with children and helping others.
