This summer, the High Fives Foundation partnered with Reno Rescue to offer a unique Equine Therapy experience for athletes seeking healing, growth, and connection through the power of horses.
Held on June 9, the session provided athletes with an opportunity to step outside their daily routines and engage with horses in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Equine Therapy is known for helping participants develop confidence, improve balance and coordination, strengthen communication skills, and build meaningful connections through hands-on interaction with animals.
Throughout the day, athletes worked alongside trained professionals and volunteers, learning how to care for, lead, and connect with the horses. These activities encouraged trust, patience, and mindfulness while creating opportunities for personal growth both in and out of the arena.
The partnership with Reno Rescue highlights the High Fives Foundation’s commitment to providing diverse experiences that support physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Whether on the snow, dirt, water, or alongside a horse, these opportunities help athletes continue discovering new pathways to healing and independence.
A huge thank you to the team at Reno Rescue for opening their facility and sharing their incredible horses with our athletes. Together, we’re creating experiences that foster resilience, confidence, and connection—one interaction at a time.
Healing comes in many forms, and sometimes it begins with a horse.
