In 2008, Steve suffered a burst fracture of his T9 vertebrae while skiing Squaw Valley Resort. After speding a year in different Hospitals around the country, Steve returned to Northern California, where he was introduced to Roy Tuscany. In 2010, High Fives assisted Steve in achieving his goal to ski again, making him the first ever High Fives grant recipient. Steve was honored to pay it forward by helping Roy with Athletes and events. Steve worked with the Foundation from 2010-2019.
