May 2026 continued to build on the energy of the season through impactful programming, athlete connection, and growing national visibility for the adaptive community. The month was highlighted by the release of the 2025 Annual Report, showcasing the collective impact made possible by the High Fives Foundation community and celebrating another year of supporting athletes through recovery and return to sport. On the water, veterans gathered along the California coast for the Santa Cruz Surf Camp, where participants experienced the healing power of the ocean, adaptive surfing, and community connection. Adaptive recreation also expanded inland as Access Unlimited hosted its first Reno Fish Day Camp, creating new opportunities for athletes. International competition and progression were on display during the Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships, where athletes pushed boundaries and represented the strength of the adaptive sports movement on a global stage. Together, these moments made May a month defined by community growth, outdoor progression, and continued momentum toward expanding what is possible.
As we celebrate these milestones, we look forward to the journey ahead, continuing to uplift, support, and champion our athletes every step of the way.
