Join the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation at the Vail Golf Club on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 for the 1st Annual High Fives Foundation Colorado Charity Golf Tournament presented by Phunkshun Wear. The tournament is a fundraising event to strengthen the Foundation’s Empowerment Fund, which provides grant assistance to injured winter action sports athletes.

To date, the Empowerment Fund has assisted 85 athletes from 20 states in eight respective funding categories which include: living expenses, insurance, travel, health, healing network, adaptive equipment, winter equipment, programs and stoke (positive energy, outlook and attitude).

The cost to participate in the tournament is $500 per team of four, or $150 per solo golfer. All proceeds will go to the High Fives Foundation to facilitate the recovery process of injured winter action sports athletes. “I am excited to work with an organization that is very close to me on this fun-filled event,” said Jay Badgley, Owner of Phunkshun Wear. “I’ve attended High Fives Foundation tournaments in Tahoe and there is so much positive energy at the events! I am excited to pass that energy on to my stomping grounds in Colorado!”

The 1st Annual High Fives Colorado Charity Golf Tournament at Vail Golf Club will begin at 10:00am with player registration. Lunch from will be served at 11:00am, and a “Break the Butcher Paper” competition will begin at 11:15am, where golfers will attempt to rip a sheet of butcher paper by hitting golf balls at it from a challenging distance. Following the “Break the Butcher Paper” competition, High Fives Foundation Co-Founder and Executive Director, Roy Tuscany will then lead into announcements at 11:50am and at 12:15pm a group photo will be taken to celebrate this special day. At 12:30pm, teams of four will hit the fairways of the Vail Golf Club and work together in a scramble format attempting to win amazing prizes from a list of great sponsors.

While on the course, players will have the chance to participate in many on course challenges (including closest to the pin, long drive and a putting contest) to win additional prizing. After competitors have completed their round of golf, the tournament will end with a putting contest followed by awards, a silent auction and a catered dinner from 5:30-8:30pm.
