Join the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation at the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club on Friday, August 14, 2015 for the 3rd Annual High Fives Foundation East Coast Charity Golf Tournament presented by GoPro and Vermont North Ski Shop. The tournament is a fundraising event to strengthen the Foundation’s Empowerment Fund, which provides grant assistance to injured winter action sports athletes.

To date, the Empowerment Fund has assisted 85 athletes from 20 states in eight respective funding categories which include: living expenses, insurance, travel, health, healing network, adaptive equipment, winterequipment, programs and stoke (positive energy, outlook and attitude).

The cost to participate in the tournament is $600 per team of four, or $175 per solo golfer. All proceeds will go to the High Fives Foundation to facilitate the recovery process of injured winter action sports athletes. If you would like to register a team, please visit the tournament website at www.vtgolf.highfivesfoundation.org. This event is limited to 36 teams.

“As a Board member of the High Fives Foundation and growing up playing at Sugarbush Golf Club, it is awesome to see the two entities combine in such a fun event,” said Jesse Murphy, Co-Owner of Vermont North Ski Shops. “This is surely one of my favorite events of the summer, and I am excited to see what’s in store for the 3rd Annual High Fives East Coast Charity Golf Tournament.”

The 3rd Annual High Fives East Coast Charity Golf Tournament at Sugarbush Resort Golf Club will begin at 10:00am with player registration. Lunch from Mutha Stuffers will be served at 11:00am, and a “Break the Glass” competition will begin at 11:15am, where golfers will attempt to shatter a pane of glass by hitting golf balls at it from a challenging distance. Following the “Break the Glass” competition, golfers will have an opportunity to “Hit the Gondola” in which an old gondola cart from Sugarbush Ski Resort will be set-up as a target at 11:30am. High Fives Foundation Co-Founder and Executive Director, Roy Tuscany will then lead into announcements at 11:50am and at 12:15pm a group photo will be taken to celebrate this special day. At 12:30pm, teams of four will hit the fairways of the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club and work together in a scramble format attempting to win amazing prizes from a list of great sponsors.

While on the course, players will have the chance to participate in many on course challenges (including baseball bat long drive, closest to the pin, long drive and pay the pro) to win additional prizing. After competitors have completed their round of golf, the tournament will end with a putting contest followed by awards, a silent auction and a catered dinner at the legendary Localfolk Smokehouse (in Waitsfield, VT) from 5:30-8:30pm.
