On Friday, Aug. 1, adaptive athletes across the globe will come together in celebration of International Adaptive Activity Day, known by its hashtag #HaveADay. Now in its fifth year, the annual initiative encourages individuals of all abilities to get outside, get moving, and share the joy of active, adaptive living.
Spearheaded by the High Fives Foundation in partnership with the Kelly Brush Foundation and Victoria’s Victory Foundation, #HaveADay spotlights the power of inclusion and the freedom of movement. The goal is to create a collective moment of adventure, accessibility, and athleticism for the adaptive community.
“Whether you’re biking, surfing, paddling, pushing, or simply outdoors, #HaveADay is about showing the world that life is better when it’s Active, Adaptive, filled with Adventure, and Accessible”
Participants everywhere are invited to share their day using the hashtag #HaveADay on social media—tagging their favorite activity, their location, and the reason they ride, roll, run, or recreate.
This year’s flagship event will take place at Killington Bike Park in Killington, Vt., with Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports for a Community Bike Day.
