SNOWBOARD RAFFLE STARTS TODAY! ALCHEMIST x ROME SDS for HIGH FIVES
You can enter to win a limited edition Blur 159 snowboard (hand-numbered 1 – 15) at The Alchemist Stowe Brewery. These companies have come together in an effort to show how the power of community support can benefit outdoor athletes that suffer life-altering injuries.
Born out of the small town of Waterbury, VT comes a collaboration of three entities that have called Waterbury, VT home for years. High Fives Foundation founder Roy Tuscany was born and raised in the town that is not only headquarters for Rome SDS, but also the original Alchemist Brewery— where it cans the world-renowned Heady Topper. These three companies have come together in an effort to show how the power of community support can benefit outdoor athletes that suffer life-altering injuries.
In 2001, Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate was founded in a repurposed barn on the edge of town in Waterbury, VT. The proximity to multiple resorts within a 30-minute drive made the town an obvious choice. Most days in the winter, you’ll catch a majority of the employees in the lineup at Stowe at 8am. The opportunity to rip a couple laps before work keeps everything in perspective for us.
Back in the early days of Rome, when late nights working on multiple projects with a small crew was the norm, we would often take a break and head to the Alchemist pub in town. “Grabbing a beer, some dinner and shooting some pool was a great way to recharge the batteries before heading back to the office for the night shift” recalls art director Michael Paddock. “Safe to say, the Alchemist had more to do with some of our early projects than they realized.”
Rome SDS worked with the Alchemist to create a unique graphic on one of Rome’s award-winning snowboards; the Blur. Limited to 15 boards, these hand-numbered decks will only be available through special raffles to benefit the High Fives Foundation.
