On January 21st, 2018, #HighFivesAthlete Nick Romano, from Johnstown, PA  went skiing for the first time since his ski injury sustained at Seven Springs Resort in December 2016. Nick grew up as an alpine and water skier, and getting back out on the hill was a huge goal in his recovery, as well as his first goal in the Arcade X High Fives Goal Belt Program. The instructors that he worked with were blown away at how quickly he took to adaptive skiing.

Words from Nick!

“I finally got the videos from my first time mono skiing. I originally went on January 21st but didn’t get too many good shots. I went again Saturday the 27th. The weather was warm and it was awesome! I was able to ride the lift and got some decent turns down. They said it was pretty impressive for only my second time out. I’m currently looking for somewhere to go over my spring break to get some more lessons on a bigger mountain and have some vacation time from school. Thanks!” – Romano
