HIGH FIVE #HIGHFIVESATHLETE Shay Hampton FOR ACHIEVING HIS third OF FIVE ARCADE BELT GOALS!

Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Shay Hampton just participated in his second year of the Military of the Mountain Program. Getting back out on the slopes of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows with 21 other critically wounded US Veterans is just a drop in the bucket of Shay’s recent accomplishments. He just competed in the US Air Force Trials racking up 8 medals, which secured him a spot in the Department of Defense Warrior Games. From there, Shay has a chance to earn a spot on Team USA in the Invictus Games.

“Tonight the Air Force Trials Committee selects the Team that will represent the United States Air Force at the Department of Defense Warrior Games to be held at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO June 2-9, 2018. Out of 120 participants these past 11 days, only 40 will go on to the Games… and with 5 Gold, 1 Silver, & 2 Bronze medals, our #7 pick to represent Team Air Force is MSgt Shay Hampton (Ret)!!!”

He did it!

“Everyone has their personal setbacks and difficulties,” said Shay speaking to this year’s Military to the Mountain Program. “But there are somethings that are worth hurting for!”

THE BELT PROGRAM, WHICH IS SIMILAR TO A KARATE BELT SYSTEM, REWARDS HIGH FIVES ATHLETES WITH AN ARCADE BELT CONTAINING A NEW GOLD STAR FOR EACH MILESTONE ACHIEVED. THIS FRAMEWORK IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE CLARITY, SUPPORT, COMPETITION AND INSPIRATION FOR OTHERS AS THESE ATHLETES WORK TO REBUILD THEIR LIVES.
