Matt Masson (of the United Kingdom) is huge supporter of the CR Johnson Healing Center and a major fan of CR Johnson. Matt suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury when he was 23 years old. He had to undergo many of the same forms of mental rehabilitation and cognitive therapy that CR Johnson did. Recently he and his parents (Anne and Nick) visited the Lake Tahoe area to ski, check out the CR Johnson Healing Center and spend time with the High Fives Foundation staff.

Matt enjoyed time on the slopes, hanging out with CR’s sister Kahlil (who gave him a pair of 4FRNT CR Johnson Memorial Skis) and learning body awareness at Woodward Tahoe.

We can’t wait to see him and his family again soon!

An abridged email from Matt’s mother Anne:

“Hello to the High Fives Team,

I thought you might like to see these few photos! We are so pleased to have been able to see up close how High Fives functions and it just confirmed what we already knew – High Fives is extraordinarily special and unique. I can’t think of any other non-profit that would invite people in as you do. Over here (in the U.K.), it’s always a matter of just sending off a donation to some anonymous office and you might get a standard reply acknowledging it if you’re lucky.

We have just spent an amazing 10 days in your beautiful part of the world and had the very best time and have some treasured memories to store. Matt will have many tales to tell when he gets back to Chamonix. Pictures of those CR skis have gone worldwide to all his friends!!!

Thanks again,

Anne, Nick and Matt Masson”
