FAT Ski-a-thon Raises $150k
On Sunday February 29th, the High Fives Foundation raised over $150k from online donations and sponsorships of the 5th Annual FAT Ski-a-thon. Ski Vermont supported the event with a $1,000 match for the cause. One hundred and seventy five skiers lapped the Summit Chair at Mount Ellen for the most successful fundraiser the Foundation has ever hosted in its history. High Fives gives grants to athletes with major injuries such as spinal cord or brain injuries. They also teach safety awareness and smart decision-making at schools locally in Northern Vermont and across the country.

The largest fundraising success was the duo of Mae Murphy (age 10) and Rubi Murphy (age 11) who collectively raised $20,645.  “It’s not hard to ask people [to donate],” said Mae Murphy. “You just ask them, and if they can do it, they will help.”
