We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our collaboration with artist and outdoor sports enthusiast, Skye Walker!
If you’ve visited the C.R. Johnson Healing Center recently, you’ve been inspired by the powerful mural on the west wall of the gym. A healing bear is the focus of this piece, which melts into the lively landscapes around it. Mountains, mesas, trees, and waves interweave in a new and energizing way, evoking strength and humble gratitude. This collab makes Skye’s artwork accessible to you.
We’ve been lucky enough to work with Skye Walker since 2018 when he created his first mural with us at headquarters. “I wanted to inspire the athletes and employees with the mural, but instead, I walked away incredibly inspired by the hard work everyone was doing there,” says Walker. This artist so perfectly illustrates the energy of High Fives Foundation that we requested his talents and expertise again this year.
Skye’s degree in graphic design and emphasis in fine arts provided him with the techniques and tools to execute these incredible designs, but its Mother Earth that is his first point of inspiration. “When I surf, mountain bike, or enjoy some fresh powder, those moments expand on my appreciation for nature. During those adventures, I become even more inspired.”
In parting, here are some of Skye Walker’s words on expressing yourself:
“The best advice I can give is do whatever it is YOU like to do that makes you happy on the creative front. Whether it’s music, painting, drawing, dancing, writing, whatever it may be, just pursue it to the best of your ability.
Remember to push through the creative blocks—we all get them—because once you get through those moments, the real creativity kicks in. Never stop being creative and never give up.”
