High Five to Achieve Tahoe for teaming up with High Fives again for the 2017 ‘Military to the Mountains‘ Program Service.

The “Military to the Mountains” program, a partnership between Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, High Fives Foundation, Achieve Tahoe (formerly Disabled Sports USA Far West), the City of Reno and Adaptive Training Foundation are bringing 22 injured veterans of the United States armed forces at Squaw Valley for a week of snow skiing/snowboarding. Prior to skiing/snowboarding the veterans will complete a 9-week dry land training program.

Their Mission, “to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence,” and motto: “If I Can Do This, I Can Do Anything!” has not changed. They remain as committed as ever to serving their participants with disabilities and their families by providing first-class opportunities to achieve independence through sport.

Achieve Tahoe provides winter and summer sports instruction at all ability levels for adults and children with disabilities. By engaging our participants in healthy activity and encouraging exploration of new capabilities, our programs create opportunities for achievement in sports that carry through to other areas in life.
