NON PROFIT SPOTLIGHT | SAFE AS CLINICS

The S.A.F.E. A.S. crew would like to extend a warm thank you!

S.A.F.E. A.S. Clinics were started by Elyse Saugstad, Jackie Paaso, Lel Tone, Michelle Parker, Ingrid Backstrom, and Sherry McConkey. With the goals of heightening community snow safety and avalanche awareness we have created a women’s intro to avalanche safety clinic. See where they have gone!

“This past December we held four very successful, sold out clinics that were made possible by your help. With two stops in California and two in Colorado, we reached and educated over 120 women with valuable avalanche and snow safety knowledge. Once again we here at SAFE AS are thrilled to have hosted events that engaged our female ski community through influencing and inspiring women to take their skiing/snowboarding to the next level. Plus, through the support of SheJumps, Coalition Snow and The Live Like Liz Foundation SAFE AS gave out 17 scholarships this year for women to attend SAFE AS. With your support we were able to fundraise over $5,600 this year for three integral non-profits: the High Fives Foundation, the Sierra Avalanche Center, and AIARE’s Avalanche Project. Additionally, we have raised almost $20,000 over the past four years of SAFE AS! So once again, thank you so very much for your support of SAFE AS, we appreciate it whole-heartedly and we look forward to working with you in the future.”
Best,
(Jackie, Michelle, Ingrid, Lel, Robin, Sherry & Elyse)
