Recap of the 2024 Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships

The waves were roaring, and the spirit was high as Byron Bay played host to the remarkable spectacle of the 2024 Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships. From March 17th to 22nd, The Pass witnessed the convergence of 90 athletes representing 17 countries across 9 divisions, marking the inaugural event of the @adaptivesurfingprofessionals 2024 tour.

It was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of resilience, determination, and the indomitable human spirit. The who’s-who of the global adaptive surfing family congregated, infusing the atmosphere with unparalleled energy and talent.

Over the course of the event, 921 waves were conquered, each representing a triumph over adversity and a testament to the unwavering dedication of these watermen and women. Among these waves, three perfect 10-point rides emerged, showcasing the sheer excellence and skill on display.

Throughout the week, a handful of high-five moments symbolized the camaraderie and solidarity that permeated the event. Athletes, regardless of nationality or background, came together as one community, united by their shared passion for the ocean and the sport they love.

As we bid farewell to Byron Bay, we carry with us the memories of a week filled with stoke, spirit, and unforgettable moments. Yet, the journey has only just begun.
