Reno Fly Fish Days Recap | May 27

The High Fives Foundation’s Access Unlimited program returned to the water on May 27 for another incredible Reno Fly Fish Day, bringing athletes together for a day of connection, learning, and outdoor adventure.

Hosted along the waters of Northern Nevada, athletes had the opportunity to spend the day fly fishing alongside experienced guides, volunteers, and fellow participants. Whether it was their first time picking up a fly rod or they were returning to sharpen their skills, everyone enjoyed a welcoming environment designed to make the sport accessible and enjoyable.

More than just a day of fishing, the experience offered athletes the chance to unplug, slow down, and immerse themselves in nature. Throughout the day, participants practiced casting, learned about local fisheries, and shared stories while enjoying the therapeutic benefits that come from time spent on the water. As many athletes discovered, fly fishing is about far more than catching fish…it’s about patience, focus, and finding freedom outdoors.

Programs like Reno Fly Fish Days continue to demonstrate the mission of Access Unlimited…creating opportunities for athletes living with life-changing injuries to explore new activities, build confidence, and develop meaningful connections within the outdoor community.

A huge thank you to the volunteers, guides, and partners who made the day possible. Your support helps ensure that adaptive athletes can continue accessing experiences that inspire adventure and foster lifelong participation in the outdoors.

Here’s to more casts, more fish stories, and more days spent outside together.
