A Worldwide Odyssey The 2024 tour embarks on an international odyssey, commencing in Australia for the Blackmores Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championship. From the land down under, we traverse the Pacific to the iconic shores of Hawaii for the Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships. The journey then unfolds in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica, hosting the Costa Rica Open Pro of Adaptive Surfing, before making a splash at the final stop – the U.S. Open Adaptive Surfing Championships in Oceanside, California. Each location not only offers a unique surf experience but also symbolizes the diversity and inclusivity that define the adaptive surfing community.
Prizes Breaking Records In 2024, the prize money reaches new heights, setting records and amplifying the excitement of the competition. The Adaptive Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour (AASP) is poised to crown more adaptive world champions, with a combined prize pool that promises to be the most lucrative in the history of adaptive surfing. Champions from each stop will not only earn accolades but will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills at a bonus stop – the Waco Surf Wave Pool, where champions will surf for two days in a special celebration of their achievements.
Reflecting on 2023 The success of the 2023 tour laid the foundation for this year’s grandeur. Adding a third stop in Costa Rica, the tour awarded a combined prize pool purse exceeding $104,000 to adaptive surfers from around the globe. The incredible journey unfolded at the AccesSurf Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships, gathered momentum in the stunning Costa Rican waves at Boca Barranca, and culminated in the U.S. Open Adaptive Surfing Championships in Oceanside, California. The camaraderie, passion, and skill displayed by participants set the stage for an even more thrilling 2024.
