SNOCRU, the premier micro-social app for the mountains, is proud to announce a new fundraising campaign in support of the High Fives Foundation. Through the month of March, 50 cents will be donated for every “High 5” that users of the SNOCRU app complete as part of “March Matchness”.
“To support the campaign, simply go on the SNOCRU Newsfeed on your mobile device and ‘High Five’ your cru’s resort check-ins, photo posts and status updates,” explains High Fives Foundation Founder Roy Tuscany. “The SNOCRU Newsfeed has been a great way for me to stay in touch with friends all over the country.“ he continues, “I’ve been able to share the stoke of friends enjoying the mountains and thank them for their ongoing support of the foundation.”
“The Holiday High 5 promotion was such a success that we couldn’t wait to run another promotion with our friends at the High Fives Foundation,” said SNOCRU Founder Ed Lewis. “With 2,077 number of ‘High Fives” we were able to raise close to $1,500.00 for the Foundation. Through promotions like this and sponsoring top-tier High Fives Foundation events like the FAT Ski-A-Thon, the Squaw Valley Prom and the upcoming B.A.S.I.C.S (Safety Initiative) #KnowYourPark, we are able to support their work and together to raise money that will help injured winter action sports athletes recover from traumatic, life-altering injuries.”
SNOCRU is a free mobile application available via the Google Play Store or iTunes Store. The unique micro-social application offers a great way to stay connected and make new friends and add them to your “Cru” while playing in the mountains. In addition to staying in the know on snow conditions at all major ski areas, SNOCRU users can keep track of their stats on the snow (or dirt, when biking or hiking). SNOCRU users are able to track their maximum speed, distance, vertical, altitude and number of runs and then share it via social media channels and can even compete for the top spot on the SNOCRU Leaderboards with friends or specific resorts.
