Welcome New Athlete Steve Jacobo!

Welcome to High Fives Steve!

In February of last ski season, while working at Sierra Tahoe Resort, Steven Jacobo and some buddies went snowboarding for the day. On his last run, Steven hit a 15ft jump and was thrown off a 25 foot incline ultimately shattering his T9 an T10 vertebra. After impact, Steven discovered he had lost half of his core muscles and couldn’t move or feel his legs.

After spending a month at Renown Medical Center, Steven was transferred to Ranchos Los Amigos in Downey , CA. Since his injury, Steven has been focusing on therapy and lifting weights to get stronger everyday. Over a year after his injury, Steven can walk using assisted devices, and wants to be an inspiration to others who have suffered similar set backs to the one he did last February. Steven has always been into action sports and is currently getting into a new sport called WCMX, and in July 2014 High Fives helped him purchase his first freestyle chair.
