The Winter Empowerment program service disburses board approved grants to disabled winter action sports athletes participating in winter adaptive sports or athletes recovering from a life-altering injury. One such grant became a reality this spring in the form a heli-skiing experience for High Fives Athlete, Tony Schmiesing!

Disabled Sports USA – Far West’s Program Coordinator, Brian Sheckler has been skiing with Tony the last few years leading up to the ultimate experience on skis. In 2013, the duo conquered the Superpipe at Squaw Valley.
