May 20–21, 2025 | Queen’s Surf Break, Waikīkī, Hawaii
The 17th Annual Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships brought together over 90 adaptive surfers from around the world to the legendary Queen’s Surf Break in Waikīkī—and the High Fives Foundation was proud to show up strong. With 11 High Fives Athletes competing across five adaptive classifications, the event was a powerful reminder of the strength, talent, and community found in adaptive surf.

“The 2025 Hawaii Adaptive Surfing Championships was an amazing competition for the High Fives crew! We had multiple athletes across various divisions competing in the finals and finishing on the podium. AccesSurf did such a great job with the entire week, and it was a joy to be a part of.”
– Matt Herrera, Empowerment Program Coordinator, High Fives Foundation
This year’s competition welcomed surfers from over a dozen countries, uniting athletes of all abilities in one of the most iconic surf locations in the world. Events like these are critical to advancing adaptive sports awareness, inclusive surf culture, and access to the ocean for all.
