In 2008, Chris was involved in a motorcycle accident while cruising on a back road. As he rounded a corner, a vehicle was backing out of a driveway, swerving to avoid a collision with the vehicle, Chris crashed into a tree. The accident left him with multiple fractures in his back and no feeling or movement below his T5 vertebrae. Chris also sustained collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a broken sternum, and a major concussion. Fortunately, Chris was wearing a helmet, ultimately saving his life.
