Jack Sette-Ducati
Jack grew up skiing Sugarbush in VT and raced for his high school team in MA. In January 2018, Jack crashed into a tree while race training. He suffered a T12 burst fracture, broken ribs, and other minor injuries to his spine and organs. He had surgery to replace his T12 vertebrae. As a T9 incomplete paraplegic, he currently walks assisted with crutches and a single AFO brace for his right foot.
Jack is currently in college. Through High Fives he has been able to return to his home mountain Sugarbush during the 2018-2019 season. Jack is skiing in a sit monoski with Vermont Adaptive showing him the way. He is looking forward to getting back to sailing in the summer, and to try rowing as well.
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity, in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”
