Return To Dirt Day Trip | June 21

The High Fives Foundation’s Return to Dirt program creates opportunities for athletes to discover new places, build lasting friendships, and experience the freedom of adaptive adventure. On June 21, Shelby Fuchs, Candy Dungan, and Jamie Bruce spent the day exploring Four Mile Road on a memorable 33-mile ride through the Colorado backcountry.

For Candy and Jamie, it was their first Return to Dirt experience, making the day even more special. The group carpooled together from Denver before setting off to explore winding trails filled with colorful summer wildflowers and sweeping mountain views.

One of the highlights of the trip was stopping at a hidden mountain meadow for lunch, taking time to enjoy the peaceful scenery and each other’s company. Throughout the ride, Shelby kept the energy high with a carefully curated playlist that became the soundtrack to an unforgettable day on the trail.

From first-time experiences to shared laughter and beautiful landscapes, the day captured everything that makes Return to Dirt so impactful—creating community while empowering athletes to continue exploring the outdoors with confidence.
