Freestate Wheelchair Lacrosse was started to promote wheelchair lacrosse and other adaptive recreational activities in the state of Maryland. They are hoping to grow the sport and build multiple teams around the region to compete in competitive venues.

Mark Flounlacker told the High Fives Foundation the following: “I am pretty amped that my wheelchair lacrosse team is taking shape. We teamed up with The Paralyzed Veterans Of America and Kennedy Kreiger Institute to promote the sport and I have organized for us to play in a game and demo at The Shoot Out For Soldiers and also at Camp S.T.A.R., which is a youth adaptive recreation clinic in PA. We are going to do a clinic at Messiah College and play a game against Sportables Richmond. Just getting out there and trying to high five as many people as I can!”
