Meet #HighFivesAthlete Tanelle Bolt (Athlete #150) from Invermere, Canada
In June 2018, the High Fives Foundation disbursed $74,539.86 to 24 Athlete’s across North America.
Injured just over three years, Tanelle has already taken the adaptive world by storm. She is already an accomplished adaptive surfer and plans to become more active in the ski world. Tanelle received a $945 High Fives grant to be used toward physical therapy so that she can stay on top of the adaptive world.
Tanelle Bolt became a paraplegic when she broke her back jumping off a 60′ bridge with friends. The impact resulted in a complete injury from her T6 vertebrae down.
While Tanelle wants to achieve the ultimate goal of getting back on her feet, in the meantime, she plans to achieve the goal of becoming a competitive para-Canadian athlete in both a summer (surfing) and winter (skiing) disciplines.
I’m honored to be a part of the High Fives Family. They have built a group of highly impressive individuals, and I always look forward to our next get together.
Tanelle will be attending the High Fives Santa Cruz Surf Camp September 16-22. She will look to progress her surf skills at the camp.
The High Fives Foundation supports injured outdoor action sports Athletes through grant funding to be used towards reaching their recovery goals.
